Five years of iPhone

本文作者: Hugh Langley
“THERE’S no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant (可观的) market share. No chance.” This statement was made back in 2007, only weeks before the launch of Apple’s very first iPhone. Who said it? Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft. However, he might feel a little embarrassed to be reminded of it now. After all, his prediction could not have been further from the truth. Just over five years later, Apple’s iPhone business alone is bigger than Microsoft, Coca Cola and Walt Disney, and has made Apple the most valuable company in the world. To date, Apple has sold over 250 million iPhones. Steve Jobs allegedly (据说) told employees (职员) during a meeting at Apple, just before the first iPhone launch, that one day every smartphone would work like the iPhone, and that they were part of something special – something they could tell their grandchildren about. It turns out he was right.
