Singletons happier despite pressure

According to a 2012 survey, of 85,795 students, 9,545 teachers and 12,155 parents in China, only children enjoy better living and study conditions than their peers with siblings. Communication between singletons and their parents was also found to be more frequent. However, due to their parent’s higher expectations for a successful career, a higher percentage of them felt more exhausted and lonely, although they are generally happier and more satisfied than their counterparts with siblings. On the other hand, only children seem to lag behind in their physical development and their ability to live independently.
