BRITISH soccer player David Beckham visited Beijing, Qingdao and Wuhan in late March. He visited soccer clubs and played soccer with students in schools. He was doing so as a “global ambassador (全球大使)” for the Youth Soccer Program in China and the Chinese Super League (CSL). The CSL hopes that he can encourage young people to join the sport. But some people think that it’s just a publicity stunt. They say that Beckham can do little for Chinese soccer. |  |
