Romance vs raw reality
本文作者: 21st
Films and TV series featuring ‘youth’ (青春) are totally different from those featuring ‘young idols’ (青春偶像). Films themed on young idols are a romanticization of being young, a fantasy or a daydream that takes the audience away, especially immature viewers, from their awkward and frustrating youth experience. In contrast, the reason why youth films resonate more profoundly among a wider demography is that they express the agony of being young, narrate the pain, the confusion and the irrational impulses during a particular phase of human life in which a transformation from teenager to adult takes place. It overthrows the romanticized youth by presenting the raw reality.
