US lists most popular names

We didn’t have much say when we were given our names. But when it comes to picking an English moniker (名字), we have plenty of choices. On May 7, the Social Security Administration of the US released the most popular names for boys and girls in the country in 2012. Jacob and Sophia kept the top spots. Jacob, in particular, appears to have staying power: the name has been No 1 for boys for 13 years running. |  |
