The Supreme Court in the US is the highest tribunal in the country for all cases and controversies arising under the US constitution or laws. The court also functions as guardian and interpreter of the constitution. It has nine justices nominated by the US president and approved by the senate. Once appointed, the justices have life tenure unless they resign, retire or are removed after impeachment.
