Reflect history

I VISITED a local museum recently. I was deeply impressed by three mirrors (镜子). They were made during three different periods: the Warring States period (战国时期), the Han and Tang dynasties. From looking at them, I could see the progress in the skill of making mirrors. The first mirror made during the Warring States period is rough (粗糙的), while the Tang mirror has more complicated decorations (复杂的装饰). The mirrors also reminded (提醒) me of Emperor Tang Taizong, who once said history and people could also be mirrors to reflect our mistakes and progress. The emperor’s humble attitude (谦虚的态度) and Tang’s advanced technology made China a powerful country at that time. I hope that China can become more and more powerful with the help of our ancestors’ legacy (祖先遗留的财富)!
