Cash gifts right?

Residents of Macao became the envy of the world again this year when the Macao government announced earlier this month that every permanent resident will again receive a cash handout of 9,000 patacas (6,900 yuan) each. Non-permanent residents will get 5,400 patacas. This is the sixth straight year that the Macao government has dished out such generous cash gifts to its citizens, and the news quickly stirred up another round of hot discussions on the Chinese mainland.
