Telling their cities’ stories
本文作者: By Shu Lei, Hangzhou Foreign Language School
Editor’s note: For our 2013 Teens Handmade English Newspaper Contest, we received more than 1,000 works in response to the suggested theme of “A City of Two Tales”. Teens’ foreign experts and editors were blown away by the work of students, many of whom are destined to become English writers and designers. There was the vivid emotional portrayal of Hangzhou as a slow-paced old city and a fast-paced modern city, created by first prize winner Shu Lei from Hangzhou Foreign Language School. There was also a creative approach and design of the old and the new Taiyuan in the form of a time travel narrative written by Cheng Mengxue’s group from Taiyuan Foreign Language School. Below the four winners explain how they made their works. Congratualtions to these students and let’s all enjoy their creative projects.
