The Beijing government has given a grant of almost 11 million yuan to Sanyuan, one of the largest national dairy companies, for a research project on “safe and healthy baby milk powder”. This is the first time any Chinese local government has set up a grant fund to focus just on developing domestic *infant *formula products.
