A company rejected a college graduate’s job application because her 400-word handwritten resume contained 24 incorrect Chinese characters, reported Beijing Youth Daily. Many students display poor Chinese language *proficiency when writing. The problem that people, especially youths, are having with writing Chinese characters is becoming a threat to Chinese language and culture, says Qian Xi in an article in Jinhua News.
