SPACE exploration (探索) took a huge step forward last week. On Nov 12, the Philae lander from the European Space Agency’s (ESA, 欧洲航天局) Rosetta probe (探测器) successfully touched the surface of Comet 67P. It is the first time for humans to land a spacecraft on a comet (彗星). Rosetta probe and the Philae lander set out for space in 2004. It took them 10 years to reach Comet 67P, which is 6.4 billion kilometers away from Earth. The landing of Philae gives scientists their first chance to explore a comet and study it close up.
