Sherman Alexie, a Native American poet, is the editor of the Best American Poetry 2015 anthology. In a blog post he wrote for the Best American Poetry (BAP) website, Alexie acknowledged that he was “more *amenable” to The Bees poem because he thought its author was Chinese-American. But he decided to keep the poem in the anthology after learning the truth. Here is his explanation:
