中国古代诗歌一向被视为中国传统文化的瑰宝。如今，这块瑰宝已经走出中国，出现在具有140年历史的英国伦敦地铁（London Underground)中。从今年2月开始，中国唐代大诗人杜甫（Du Fu）、李白（Li Bai）和白居易（Po Chu-I）的绝世佳句被译成英文陆续在伦敦地铁展示。同时，华兹华斯（William Wordsworth）和布莱克（William Blake）等英国著名诗人的诗句中文版也将于3月亮相东方明珠上海的地铁(Shanghai Metro)。伦敦和上海地铁的诗歌文化交流（Poems On The Underground: The Exchange Programme）是从1月26日开始的“中国在伦敦”文化季(the China in London season)的一部分。　　在伦敦地铁展示的诗歌包括白居易的《红鹦鹉》（The Red Cockatoo），李白的《听蜀僧浚弹琴》（Listening to a Monk from Shu Playing the Lute）和《送友人》（Taking Leave of a Friend），杜甫的《春夜喜雨》（Spring Rain）等。成千上万的伦敦市民和国际游客通过英国地铁车厢内的2000个告示牌，领略到了中国古代诗歌的魅力。　　走进上海地铁的英国诗歌分别是英国诗人威廉·布莱克（William Blake）的《天真的预示》（Auguries of Innocence），威廉·华兹华斯（WilliamWordsworth）的《水仙》（Daffodils），迈克尔·布洛克（Michael Bullock）的《蝴蝶》（Butterfly），凯瑟琳·詹米（Kathleen Jamie）的《蓝色的船》（The Blue Boat）。　　“地铁里的诗歌”项目（Poems on the Underground）1986年发源于英国，由伦敦地铁公司（London Underground）、英格兰艺术理事会（Arts Council England）和英国文化协会（the British Council）共同组织，展示的诗歌由英国作家Judith Chernaik、诗人Gerard Benson 和Cicely Herbert共同选定。
