WITH the Test for English Majors 4 (TEM 4) approaching, I spend almost every minute I can in the library looking at exercises, isolated from the outside world. There's a small park on our campus, and I can't help noticing the flowers in full, merry blossom, even at a distance. Once, I stepped inside the grove with the blossoms and was deeply moved by the flower power. I saw no arrogance, just beauty and grace, nothing whatsoever of how it was separate from the grass and the earth. All I saw was the perseverance that enabled them to overcome difficulties and endure their loneliness. So it is with those of us undergoing hardship and loneliness on the way to our goals. Preparing for TEM 4 needs perseverance, but what we reap later will be an abundant harvest. In fact, I'm grateful to the forced preparation because my grammar has improved a great deal.
