IATEFL Conference
IATEFL is the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language. Founded in the UK in 1967, it now has nearly 4000 members in 100 different countries throughout the world.
IATEFL, linking with associated ELT professional organisations in other countries, offers various opportunities for participants to reach a range of regular publications. You may find more information in Annual International Conference with an extensive programme of talks and workshops as well as in 14 Special Interest Groups (SIGs). IATEFL provides help to others in forming or developing a local teachers?organisation, and offers scholarships to specific groups of teachers to enable them to attend our Annual Conference.
The annual IATEFL conference is one of the key events in the global ELT calendar. The conference provides extensive opportunities for members and non-members to network professionally, whether formally as part of the conference programme, informally, or online.

1. 46th IATEFL Glasgow 2012
The 46th IATEFL conference will be held from 19th-23rd March in Glasgow, UK. At the conference, there will be 14 Pre-Conference Events (PCEs) organised by the Special Interest Groups on 19th March. IATEFL Associates?Day (A-Day) will also take place on Monday 19th March, followed by the four-day conference and exhibition from 20th -23rd March.
The PCEs are designed specifically for delegates who wish to concentrate on a particular topic such as Teacher Training & Education, Teacher Development, Young Learners and Teenagers etc. The programme at A-Day would address issues that are of common concern to large numbers of teacher associations.
Glasgow online is an initiative started at the 2007 annual conference, which was brought about by collaboration between IATEFL and the British Council in line with the aims of linking, developing and supporting ELT professionals worldwide. The aim of the IATEFL online conference is to make the IATEFL conference accessible to many thousand more participants, both members and non-members worldwide.
