Only a minute after a 7.0-*magnitude earthquake struck Lushan county in Ya’an, a city in Sichuan province at 8:02 am on April 20, the China Earthquake Network Center posted information about it on its micro blog. Within minutes, Sina Weibo was flooded with information about the disaster, which by April 23 had taken the lives of 193 people and injured more than 12,000 people in Lushan, the *epicenter, and the surrounding areas.
