Health secretary says, 'Shake it, couch potatoes!'

本文作者: 21ST
BRITAIN’S Health Secretary Alan Johnson wants citizens to put on their dancing shoes. He says that dancing is a great way to lose weight. According to The Sunday Times, Johnson plans to appoint a working group that would explore ways to get more Brits moving to the music. "The point about dance is you don’t have to be professional," Johnson said. "You don’t have to be brilliant on your feet, it gets you moving and that’s what we all need." Ballroom dancing and other dance forms, like Salsa, have lots of action and motion that can help people burn calories. Like many Brits, Johnson is a fan of the TV show Strictly Come Dancing. He was enthralled by the performances of John Sergeant (pictured), an overweight former TV journalist who lost about 12kg in 10 weeks on the show. According to The Times, the UK’s "couch potato culture" is costing the health ministry about £1 billion a year.
