It’s 11 pm. The lights in the bookstore in Beijing seem even brighter against the dark neighborhood settling down to sleep. Pushing open the door, Wang Yun’en, 25, a manager at a local bank, enters a silent world of reading. “I live close to here and I’m not ready to go to bed yet,” says Wang. “So I came here to turn a few pages - just for fun.”
