Island of lemurs

THE island nation of Madagascar is located off the eastern coast (海岸) of southern Africa, in the Indian Ocean. It is home to some of Earth’s most precious animals – lemurs (狐猴). Lemurs landed on the island more than 60 million years ago. Unfortunately, only a few lemur species are left. More than 90 percent of Madagascar’s forests have been destroyed, and the number of lemur species has been reduced to less than 20. |  |
