让 学 生 学 会用英语 交 流

  一、教学背景

  学生不用英语表达和交流是英语教学最大的困惑之一。笔者曾碰到过这么一个班,学生许多来自农村,学习刻苦、勤奋,但他们大都比较腼腆,不善交流,因为在他们浅意识中,认为只要考试成绩好才是最重要的。然而,这不是英语教学的根本目的,英语教学必须重视学生语言的交流和运用。这就要求教师在教学过程中注重激发学生交流的兴趣,鼓励学生积极主动参与交流,并创设更多的交流机会,提高语言交流的能力。

  本着这种目的,笔者选用了Lesson 83 ,BookII进行尝试。这一课生词少,内容较简单,主要是进一步掌握运用反身代词,话题又非常贴近学生生活,是培养学生运用语言进行交流的好材料、好机会。

  二、教学过程

  一开始上课,我就拿出了几张不同面值的人民币,并明白地告诉学生,“Today we are going to talk about money.” 学生们的目光一下子被吸引了过来,表现出极大的热情。 接着提了三个问题。

  1. Do you have any pocket money?

  2.How much money do your parents give you every week?

  3. What do you usually do with your money?

  由三人一组模拟中央电视台“实话实说”节目,一个扮演节目主持人,另两个是嘉宾,先让他们准备几分钟,然后请几组上台表演。开始只有一两个学生举手,其余的你看我、我看你,但当第一组表演结束时,很多学生都举手想来一试。以下是其中一组的采访活动。

  S1: Welcome to CCTV.

  S2-3: Thank you very much.

  S1: Today we invited two guests. This is Mr. Xu and this is Mr. Xiang. Well, may I ask you some questions?

  S2-3: Sure, please.

  S1: Mr. Xu, do you have any pocket money?

  Xu: Yes, I do.

  S1: How much do your parents give you every week?

  Xu: About thirty yuan .

  S1: Then what do you usually do with your money?

  Xu: I usually spend five yuan a day. Two yuan is for my breakfast, three yuan is for my lunch, because I have my breakfast and lunch at school . I go home to have supper.

  S1: Don’t you buy anything to eat or drink at the school shop?

  Xu: No, I don’t. Sometimes I buy a pencil, an eraser or other school things.

  S1: You are great. Thanks! Mr. Xiang, how about you?

  Xiang:...

  采访结束,我一提出 “Do you want to have lots of money? If you have lots of money, what will you do? For yourself? For your parents? For your friends or for others?学生就七嘴八舌地讲开了,还有很多学生举起了手。

  S1: If I have lots of money, I will buy myself lots of delicious things to eat and drink.

  S2: If I have lots of money, I will buy myself model planes, model ships and so on.

  S3: I will go traveling with my parents and my friends. I’m sure we will enjoy ourselves...

  听着学生的遐想, 我又紧接着问:“If you want to have lots of money? What should you do ?”

  S1: We must work hard.

  S2: We must listen to the teacher carefully and do our homework carefully.

  S3: We must…

  这堂课快结束时,我引导学生对课堂讨论内容进行了总结,并落实了课外写作的任务:以 “If I have lots of money, what will you do?” 为题,写一篇小作文。

  三、教学反思

  本节课,我从学生已有的生活经验出发,为学生先创设了如何花零用钱的情境,使他们产生了交流的欲望,再为他们提供交流的机会,把学生由被动接受转换成主动参与,从而激发了他们交流的兴趣。后又让学生对目前尚没有切身体验和感受、但会在以后的发展中可能遇到的生活进行大胆设想,更是把学生推向了交流的高潮。长期坚持下去,从“学交流”到“会交流”,让学生有机会交流,充分地交流,尽情地交流。学生越交流越有成就感,越有成就感就越要交流。“要我交流”变成了“我要交流”,英语教学的目的就达到了。

  在这一堂课中,笔者始终以一个指导者、参与者、合作者的身份出现在学生面前,与学生平等,为学生创造自由、宽松的氛围,同时给予他们宽容和安全,学生就可自由地去思考、去探讨,并且学生参与交流的积极性、主动性得到了应有的发挥,交流的热情空前高涨。
