在双语教学过程中,笔者不断反思和学习,调整方法、积累经验,力求营造一个轻松的英语氛围,让学生既能够学到数学知识,又能学会用英语思维,提高英语综合运用能力。十一月一日,在校庆之日,笔者上了一节双语课How to determine the position,感触颇多。下面笔者根据课堂实录进行具体片断分析,来谈一下这节课的得与失。
【片断1】 在本节双语课的教学中,为了引起学生的注意,笔者选取了贴近生活的一些教学内容。例如:在教材的第一部分,笔者选取了学生比较感兴趣的话题——How to determine the position in the cinima(如何在电影院里确定位置)。
教师提问: Assume I go to see the film, and the seat number is “Row 6 No. 3”, how can I find it? Can you point out the seat? Who can try?
学生积极上讲台前在电影院的简图上指出正确位置并用英语回答。
教师接着提问:If we use (6,3) to express “Row 6 No. 3”, how to express “Row 3 No.6”? Can we change the order of 6 and 3? What does (5,6) mean?
这个句子学生很容易回答,因此学生积极地用英语回答:We use (3,6) to express “Row 3 No. 6”. We can’t change the order of 6 and 3. (5,6) means “Row 5 No. 6”.

学生思考后回答:we use (4,2) to express the point C, and use (10,2) to express the point D...
反思:在教学过程中,如果用坐标来表示本课要教授的使用有序数对来确定位置,单词量很大,内容也比较抽象,学生在理解上有一定难度。因此,笔者对本课内容进行研究后,将本课的基本句型确定为We use (a,b) to express...这样学生在确定任何位置时都可以用这一句英语来回答。笔者通过这种方式降低了内容的难度,并且提问的问题都难度适宜,得到了很好的课堂反馈。所有学生都能用这一英语句型用有序数对确定位置,笔者既完成了数学教学任务,又让学生掌握了一定的英语句型,使学生能够用英语来表达位置的确定。
【片断3】 在动物园的景区图上确定景区的位置。
(1)I am standing at the zoo gate now. I want to go to see the elephant. Can you help me find the position of the elephant’s house?
Where do you want to go? And how do you express it?
(2) If we use (4, 2) →(4, 3) →(4, 4) →(5, 4) →(6, 4) →(7, 4) to express one of the routes from the zoo gate to the seal’s house. Can you write another route on the same lines?
学生用英语回答出如何表示大象馆的位置后,还积极地向同桌用英语介绍自己想去的地方,如何用有序数对来表示其位置,有些学生甚至用英语问同伴:I want to go to (1, 4), can you guess where do I want to go? My route is (4, 2) →(5,2) →(6,2) →(7,2) →(8,2) , where do I want to go?
二、一节课中所用的英语句型应简单、单一,学生才敢大胆用英语思考、用英语回答问题。学生无需在一节数学课上花费太多时间学习新的英语句型,才会更多地关注数学知识。以本课为例,起初笔者设计了用be noted by, be marked with等几种方式来用有序数对确定位置,后来才统一为We use (a,b) to express...结果证明,绝大多数学生均能使用这一句型来确定位置。由于笔者设计了大量的练习,“让学生学会用有序数对来确定位置”这一数学教学目标也完成地非常好。
Today many teachers will attend our class. If they don’t know where our classroom is, and they ask you “how can I find your classroom”, tell me, how will you reply to them? Very good, we should also make sure the position of the object in our daily life. For example, how can we know the position of our school? How can we point out where our city is located on a map? Also, how can we confirm the position of ships in the sea? We have many ways to determine the position of these things. So, today, our topic is “How to determine the position”.
二、解决问题,探索新知
(1)电影院里的位置确定
Do you like movies? OK. First, let’s learn how to determine the position in the cinema.
①教师学生共同解决五个小问题。
问题一:去电影院看电影要买票,如果买到的票是“6排3号”,我们怎样找到这个位置?
Question 1: Assume I go to see the film, and the seat number is “Row 6 No.3”, how can I find it?
问题二:在电影票上 ,“6排3号”和“3排6号”指的是同一个座位吗?
Question two: On the ticket, “Row 6 Number 3” and “Row 3 Number 6”, are they the same one?
问题三:“6排3号”和“3排6号”中的6的含义有什么不同?
Question 3: What is the different meanings of “Row 6 Number 3” and “Row 3 Number 6”?
Mathematics use any of a set of two numbers to determine the position of a point. We use (X, Y) to show the position of a point. X refers to the horizontal distance, and Y refers to vertical distance.
三、实际应用
1.下图是某学校平面示意图。
The Graph below is a sketch of a school.
如果用(2,5)表示图上校门的位置,那么图书馆的位置应如何表示?(10,5)表示哪个地点?
If we use (2, 5) to express the school gate, how do you express the library? What is (10, 5)?
你能否把其余两个地点也表示出来呢?
