爱尔兰作家获得国际文学大奖
IRISH author Colm Toibin won the 11th International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award on June 13, Reuters has reported. The Award is one of the world's richest literary prizes for a single work of fiction in English. Toibin, whose novel "The Master" explored the tortured soul of the 19th century American novelist Henry James, receieved the 100,000 euros (US$125,800) prize during a ceremony in Dublin City Hall. The judges praised Toibin's work as "a powerful account of the hazards of putting the life of the mind before affairs of the heart." The International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award is the one of the largest and most international prizes of its kind. It is open to books written in any language.
