“交通”话题课堂活动设计

“交通”是人们在日常生活中经常讨论的话题。在中学英语课堂教学中,学生通过学习“交通”话题的课文能增强对交通工具及交通规则的了解。本期,我们为教师设计了有关“交通”话题课堂活动范例,以供教师参考。
学习交通安全守则
教师将学生分为3至4人一组,让各学习小组学生课后搜集关于交通安全的资料,并让学生制作插图。上课时,教师请每个小组派一名代表为全班学生口述交通安全注意事项。参考范例:
WHEN WALKING...
Where there is a pavement or footway, use it.
Where there is no pavement, walk on the right hand side of the road facing the traffic coming towards you.
Walk one behind the other at bends in the road or at night or if there is a lot of traffic.
Take special care if you can't see the road very far ahead.
Take care when crossing cycle lanes on the road, as cyclists may be travelling quietly but faster than other traffic.
If you are looking after somebody younger than you, always hold their hand when using the road.
了解交通工具历史
教师让学生任选一种交通工具,搜集其发展历史的资料,让学生在课上向其他学生介绍,并说出选用该交通工具出行的优、缺点。教师可鼓励学生搜集最新型交通工具的相关资料。参考文章:
History of the Bicycle
Today, the bicycle is the primary transportation of the human race. About 1.6 billion bicycles are in use throughout the world and hundreds of millions of bikes are manufactured every year to meet the continuing demand for cheap wheeled transport.
It is said that a German, Baron Karl Drais von Sauerbronn,invented the "Running Machine", a type of proto bicycle.
The steerable running machine was made entirely of wood and had no pedals; a rider would push his/her feet against the ground to make the machine move forward.
了解国外交通文化
教师让学生在课下搜集关于国外交通规则的资料。教师将这些资料整理成册,并发给学生作为其阅读材料,以丰富学生的课外文化知识。参考文章:
