越南英语教师水平亟待提高 ONLY 11.6 percent of English lecturers in Vietnam have international English certificates, a survey under the framework of a project on heightening the quality of English teaching has found. The survey has also found out that the majority of lecturers do not have master’s degrees or doctoral degrees, which means that Vietnam does not have a good force of English teachers, in terms of both English capability and pedagogical capability. Very few lecturers have taken examinations and received a TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) certificate, which shows the need to have the lecturers trained in order to help them get updated information and upgrade their teaching methods. 日本英语教育博览会召开 THE series of 2007 English Teaching in Japan (ETJ) Expos, including seven expos respectively in Nagoya, Hiroshima, Sendai, Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka began the nationwide tour recently. The Tokyo English Language Book Fair (TEL) is being combined with the ETJ Expos. The 2007 Expos are supported by The British Council, Cambridge University Press, Compass Publishing Japan, etc. The Expos bring together teachers and publishers for days of seminars on topics ranging from phonics and homework to classroom management. |  |
