THE BBC has decided to launch two new channels in India: "BBC Entertainment", offering drama and comedy, and "CBeebies". The "Cbeebies" channel is to be both in Hindi and English, with the goal of getting children to learn English. "Cbeebies" is a BBC TV channel production that offers pre-school characters and lots of fun games. After they are launched in India, the two channels could gradually be moved to other countries too.

WHILE English conversation skills are being stressed more in job interviews in South Korea, English certification test scores are of declining importance for jobseekers. Big companies like Samsung and LG are using more practical English tests instead of conventional exams to find employees who have practical English skills. Some employers require applicants to have basic TOEIC scores around 620 to 860, but there is no extra benefit for people who have higher scores.
