Foreign teachers stay longer in New Zealand

  外籍教师申请新西兰工作签证时间延长


  NEW Zealand immigration minister announced recently that from November foreign graduate students can spend up to a year finding work in New Zealand instead of the previous six months. The easing of the immigration rules is to benefit foreign students who can teach English as a second language (ESL) and to boost the ESL industry in New Zealand, which is valued at nearly NZ$2 billion ($1.5 billion) annually.

  BRITISH Council held workshops on creating child-friendly English lessons in Vietnam for primary English teachers to learn about effective learning activities and guidelines recently. The workshop is part of the British Council’s Primary Innovations project, which aims to help change primary English language teaching.
