ETS announced that the computer-based GRE General Test would begin including reformatted reading passages in the Verbal Reasoning section in January 2008. Line numbers that reference specific parts of the reading passages accompanied with reading comprehension questions will be replaced with highlighting. In November 2007, two new question types were included in the Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning sections of the computer-based GRE General Test.
Filipinos see need for English
菲律宾推行英语作为中小学教学语言
A BILL seeking to reinstate English as the medium of instruction in all Philippine elementary and high schools has received the support of most Philippine congressmen and might be passed in January 2008. Instead of the Philippine’s existing “bilingual” policy, which allows the use of English and Filipino as mediums of instruction, the House Bill 305 assigns English as the sole medium from Grade 3 to fourth year high school.
