据英国广播公司(BBC)报道,现年48岁的鲍姆共改写了《罗密欧与朱丽叶》(Romeo and Juliet)、《哈姆雷特》(Hamlet)、《维罗那二绅士》(Two Gentlemen of Verona)等15个莎翁剧本,汇集成一本新书——《生存还是毁灭:给年轻人的莎剧导读》(To Be Or Not To Be, Innit: A Yoof-Speak Guide to Shakespeare)。 To be or not to be: that is a question,书名中的Innit和yoof分别是isn’t it和youth的俗语。
And coz they was always brawling and stuff(俚语,意为to show anger or disapproval), de prince of Verona told them to cool it or else they was gonna get well mashed if they carried on larging it(large it:俚语,意为to enjoy oneself or celebrate in an extravagant way,此处为讽刺手法) with each other.
