THE Educational Testing Service (ETS), creator of the TOEFL test, has launched a web experience at www.toeflgoanywhere.org that offers new tools, more test preparation, and step-by-step guidance to help students succeed on the TOEFL test. The site also provides resources that simplify registering for the test, practicing, planning and locating universities for test takers. Officials of the TOEFL program believe these improvements will be appreciated by the more than one million test takers who visit the website each month.
In early August, ETS also released the third edition of The Official Guide to the TOEFL Test. It shows test takers exactly what to expect on the test, reveals precisely how the test is scored, and offers two previously administered full-length tests to study for practice. The latest edition features actual test questions and explanations of correct and incorrect answers, as well as raters’ comments on sample responses to Speaking and Writing test questions.
