Background information
Since its foundation in 1949, the Frankfurt Book Fair has emerged as the world's leading marketplace for ideas, books and electronic media. It is also the trade fair where the largest number of rights and licenses change hands.
Each year, about 290,000 visitors come over to the course of the five days of the Fair. Roughly half of them are trade visitors and professionals, seeking information on books and electronic publications. There are more than 6,600 individual exhibitors and 80 national exhibitors from more than 110 countries.
The Frankfurt Book Fair has become the highlight for most Chinese exhibitors, with increased trade value in books and copyrights. Each year more than 100 people from over 80 publishers take part in the event.
